Mellusoarchitettura, founded by the architect Vincenzo Melluso in 2000, based in Palermo (Italy) and in Zurich (Switzerland), is an architectural and engineering company.

The primary focus of the company is architecture, urban projects, interior design, landscape architecture and exhibitions.

The high quality of work has been recognized internationally, with the company achieving numerous awards as well as acclaim from both critics and the press.


Vincenzo Melluso achieved in 1981 the degree in the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Palermo where is nowadays teaching, since 2006, as full professor, at the chair of Architectural and Urban Composition.

He has lectured in various universities, was guest-critic and visiting professor at the Accademia di Architettura of Mendrisio, at the Cornell University of Ithaca New York, at the Polytechnic University of Vienna. In Italy he was also invited at the Politecnico of Milan, Turin, Bari and at the Architectural Schools of Naples, Ferrara, Venice, Alghero, Parma, Trieste and Cagliari. From 2004 and 2005 he was teaching at IUAV of Venice.

In 1990 he received mention in th IN/ARCH-Sicilia and in 1993 he won the "Architettura della nuova generazione" award promoted by the "d'Architettura" megazine and he was selected for the '96 edition of the "Premio Pirano Architettura" award.

In 2006 he was selected for the "Medaglia d'oro all'architettura italiana" award promoted by the  "Triennale" of Milan and for the International Architecture Award "ECOLA  European Architectural Award Plaster ”.

His projects have been presented at the VI and VIII edition of the International Architecture Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, where he realizes the pavilion "A box of light, a play of views".

His design work has often been the focus of critique and presented in various publications, magazines and illustrated in numerous exhibitions, in Italy and abroad.

In 2000 he founded Mellusoarchitettura based on Palermo with an office in Zurich from 2019.

Maurizio Falzea achieved in 1990 the degree in the Faculty of Civil Engineering “La Sapienza” in Rome with full marks and honor. Since 1991 is enrolled in the professional Italian engineering register.

In 1992 is starting to collaborate with Architecna Engineering.

From 1999 to 2007 he was responsible of structures design and works supervisor for the airport “Fontanarossa” in Catania.

From 2004 to 2009 was consulting, as structure designer, the riqualification of the “Via Marina” and the tram line “Municipio S. Giovanni” in Naples. Since 2005 is consulting for the tram line 2 and 3.1 in Florence.

From 2006 to 2008 was responsible of the executive structures design and work supervisor for the tram line in Messina.

From 2007 to 2012 was responsible for Mellusoarchitettura of structures design and works supervisor for the Dusenszky Vitale House in Valle d’Itria in Puglia.

Since 2018 is partner and administrator of Mellusoarchitettura.

Francesco Topazio achieved in 2014, with professors Francisco and Manuel Aires Mateus, the Master degree in Science of Architecture at the “Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio” in Switzerland with full marks.

Since 2014 is enrolled in the professional Italian architects register.

After working on urban studies at the Studio Hartzema in Rotterdam, he collaborated  with Mellusoarchitettura on various projects.

Since 2015 is working as architect in charge of design process and executive plans for Merkli Degen Architekten in Zurich.

Since 2018 is partner of  Mellusoarchitettura.
